As warmer weather draws more visitors to campgrounds and beaches, Oregon State Parks is reminding campers to practice safe campfire habits to help prevent wildfires and protect public lands.
Officials say campfires remain a popular part of the outdoor experience, but unattended or improperly extinguished fires can quickly become dangerous.
Park staff encourage all campers — including children — to understand basic campfire safety and never leave fires unattended, even briefly.
