West Nile Virus Detected Again

West Nile virus (WNV) has been detected in mosquitoes collected near the Jackson County Expo in Central Point, marking the second positive mosquito sample found in the county within the past two weeks.

The mosquitoes were collected on July 21 by the Jackson County Vector Control District (JCVCD) during routine surveillance and tested positive for the virus using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing.
