The early-bird deadline has been set for the Ride the Rogue Cycling event, set for Sept. 26.
If you sign up by Aug. 14, you get a free T-shirt with your registration.
If your plan is to buy more T-shirts for your crew, you can by Aug. 14, and you can order a T-shirt even if you don’t plan to ride.
Ride the Rogue is Sat., Sept. 26, all starting at ending at Palmerton Park. The annual event is the one-and-only fundraiser for the Rogue River Greenway Foundation, the group dedicated, along with a number of local partners, to create bicycle and pedestrian access linking Grants Pass to places in Jackson County.
Rogue River is linked up with Gold Hill, with goals to link that path to Grants Pass northward and with the Bear Creek Greenway to the south, creating a 50-mile connective trail that links eight cities and 50 miles of recreational possibility.
The 2026 Ride the Rogue will be the first event since 2024 after last year’s was called off in March 2025. This year’s Ride the Rogue coincides with the anniversary of the first Ride the Rogue in 2006.
There are three rides available this year, the Metric Century, moving south along the Rogue River with three rest stops, the 40-mile ride, also along the river, and a 20-mile ride south to Gold Hill.
Helmets are required for the event.
Official early packet pickup is Sept. 25, although it’s also available on the morning of Sept .26, starting at 7 a.m.
The Metric Century ride is $75, while the 40-mile ride is $60, and the 20-mile ride is $45.
There is always a luncheon available at Palmerton Park, with a silent auction of all kinds of Greenway-themed items. There are refreshment stops along the way on all three rides, three on the Metric Century, two on the 40-mile ride, one on the 20-mile ride.
If you go with a tandem bicycle, the tandem rider is half-price, but the event is limited to the first 1,200 participants. It takes place rain or shine, and refunds aren’t available. They can be transferred, as long as the “transferee” checks in and signs his or her own waiver.
There will be late registration for Ride the Rogue, as usual, but with limited numbers of the post-ride meal at Palmerton and T-shirts available, available first-come, first-served.
