Rogue River’s signature summer celebration is preparing to return as the community gets ready for the 73rd Annual National Rooster Crow Weekend, scheduled for June 26–28, 2026.
For generations, Rooster Crow has brought together local families, visitors and former residents for a weekend filled with tradition, entertainment and hometown pride. The event has grown into one of Southern Oregon’s best-known community festivals while maintaining its small-town roots.
This year’s theme, “Crowin’ Down the River,” will guide a weekend expected to include familiar favorites such as the annual parade, local vendors, live music, community booths, family activities and contests. Organizers say the event continues to celebrate the spirit and history of Rogue River while creating opportunities for community groups and businesses to participate.
The festival’s unique identity stems from the long-standing rooster crowing competitions that helped put Rogue River on the map decades ago. Over the years, the event has evolved into a broader community celebration while keeping those traditions alive.
