Homeowners concerned about losing property insurance or finding coverage in wildfire-prone areas can speak with state insurance representatives at a Medford open house next week.
The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation will host the event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway.
The meeting is part of a statewide series intended to help homeowners understand their insurance options. The events are open to people who have already received a nonrenewal notice, as well as those concerned about whether they will be able to keep or obtain coverage in the future.
Representatives will provide information about finding homeowners insurance, shopping for coverage, and working with insurance agents and companies. Attendees can also ask questions about their individual situations and receive one-on-one guidance.
Insurance nonrenewals and limited coverage options have become concerns for homeowners in wildfire-impacted areas, according to the Division of Financial Regulation. The open houses are intended to help residents understand what steps may be available when a policy is not renewed and where to seek assistance.
The Medford event is the first in the state’s current series. Additional open houses are scheduled in Klamath Falls, Redmond, The Dalles, La Pine, and Sisters through Nov. 19.
Homeowners who need help before or after the event can contact the division’s consumer advocates at 888-877-4894 or [email protected].
