Genetic Genealogy Identifies 1972 Homicide Victim

More than five decades after skeletal remains were discovered near Highway 101 in Coos County, investigators have identified the victim through advances in forensic genetic genealogy.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office Human Identification Program, working with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit, announced that the remains belong to Armes Henry Lahti, who was born in 1909.
