Oregonians applying for or renewing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be required to complete an interview beginning June 1, according to the Oregon Department of Human Services.
The change restores standard federal SNAP eligibility procedures that were temporarily relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the updated requirement, all households seeking new benefits or renewing existing food assistance must complete an interview before approval.
