First prize in the seventh-grade science category was awarded to Monique Buell at the Rogue River Middle School Arts & Science Fair on May 14. Her project was a six-foot-tall Foucault pendulum demonstrating the rotation of the Earth. Monique, daughter of Diana and Jed Buell of Grants Pass, also received several awards for art and poetry.
