Man Faces Federal Kidnapping Charge In Canby Case

An Oregon City man faces a federal charge of kidnapping a minor after authorities found a 10-year-old girl who was reported missing from her Canby home on Oct. 28.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon charged Vince Edgar Chavez, 36, by criminal complaint. He also faces separate charges in Clackamas County Circuit Court, where he was arraigned Oct. 29 on charges that include attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping.
