The Jackson County Fire District 1 Board of Directors gave Chief Mike Hammond its endorsement to continue efforts to move the annexation of 21 properties on Savage Creek Road, located in Josephine County, into the Rogue River district.
Hammond said, at the Wednesday, Oct. 14 meeting, he had received the endorsement from Mid-Rogue Fire for the annexation, “just because our response time to that area is so much quicker than from Josephine County.”
