Among the earliest documented burials associated with the Woodville community is that of Mrs. C. W. Wilcox, whose death in 1892 marked more than the passing of a local resident. Contemporary Southern Oregon newspapers recorded her funeral, providing one of the earliest surviving accounts of a community burial in the Woodville area.
