Volunteer Planting Day on Wards Creek
The Wards Creek Restoration Initiative (WCRI) invites the community to join us for a planting event as we continue restoration along Wards Creek in Rogue River.
Earlier this month, WCRI board members and volunteers prepared more than 300 planting spots along both sides of Wards Creek near the Main Street Bridge. Invasive blackberry was removed this fall, and now it’s time to plant native trees, shrubs, and pollinator plants to stabilize creek banks, improve wildlife habitat, and establish a fire-resilient streamside forest.
