WOODVILLE VIDEO: THERE'S A DELI INSIDE

Sarah Crampton
Rogue River Press

When you are
walking through the
town of Rogue River
and are overwhelmed
by the savory aroma
of smoked meat,
head to Woodville
video on East Main
Street. Bob and Linda
Bridge added a deli to
their video store two
years ago, and Bob is
gaining a reputation
for the great smoked
meats he smokes
and sells by the
pound and in sandwiches.
Smoked tritip,
pork, bacon, and
chicken breast meat
are available every
day. One of his top
sellers is the French
Dip Sandwich on a
hoagie roll with au jus
for only $5.50. Their
deli is also the only
one around with a hot
dog for $1.00, and
they serve up
Dreyer's ice cream by
the scoop.
Woodville video
is selling off all their
VHS videos at bargain
prices. There is
a great selection of
VHS videos for sale
for 25¢, $2.50, five
videos for $10.00 and
brand new videos for
$5.00 each. The sale
of the VHS videos will
create room for chairs
and tables in the deli
area so customers
can sit and relax.
They will continue to
carry DVDs.
Woodville video
is also a market. They
have a variety of wine
and beer, as well as
other drinks, and lots
of chips, peanuts and
other snacks. They
carry the usual beers,
but also Sierra
Nevada Pale Ale,
Black Butte Porter,
Shock Top and other
microbrewery selections.
The Bridges will
be hosting upcoming
wine and beer tastings
paired with samples
of their smoked
meats. Mad
Housewife is a new
label of wine carried
at the store. It's inexpensive,
but a crowd
pleaser.
For the holidays,
you can order a
smoked meat party
tray. Bob will make up
a tray based on how
many people you
have coming to your
party. The store is
open 7 days a week
- Monday through
Thursday from 10-8
pm, Friday and
saturday from 10-9
pm, and sunday
from 11-8 pm.
Woodville video
is coming up on its
20-year anniversary
in January 2010.
They are grateful to
the local community
for their continued
support through the
years, and may be
adding the word DELI
to their store name.
