Sleep...Wonderful?

I love to be able to sleep a full night with every moment calm and comfy. I love being wrapped up in blankets and laying my head down on a soft, down pillow. Sleep is something we need to be able to function properly the next day. We need sleep to heal from any wounds or illnesses we may have. Our brain needs us to sleep so that when we are doing our daily work, it can function properly letting us know where and what we are doing and with ease. Do you dream? I love it when people say they don't dream. Rapid Eye Movement or REM sleep is a time when dreaming occurs. Some people do not remember having a dream, but if you're not dreaming it is said that you did not go into deep enough sleep to say you've slept. REM is so important.

It is the time, experts say, that we are healing and able to rest enough for that next day.Dreams... I love dreams. I can work out a problem with imagination and I can enjoy a nice swim at a beach all at the same time. Sometimes, I do wake up with a jolt from a scary or strange dream. For instance, being chased by monkeys. I also think that many of my dreams have helped me think out situations in life that needed to be thought out and pondered before coming to terms with it. When life is hard, my dreams tend to show it.
When my life is happy and great, my dreams tend to show that, too. In a recent study it showed that we can control our dreams and our dreams can be influenced by noise or others talking. I believe it’s true. When I turned to the monkeys and told them I'm done running and they can leave, they left and I continued walking in a wonderful jungle looking at the beautiful plants with no monkey interruptions. I had a night where my sons were watching a movie in the other room and I could hear it faintly. But in my dream, I was in the movie running from the big rolling stone in Indiana Jones. I was able to be in the movie and sleep, knowing the whole time I could wake up or continue on the journey. I chose the journey.
Usually, I wake well rested when I have a good nights sleep with plenty of dreams. If you don't remember your dreams, but feel rested, it's ok. You've had some great REM sleep without the picture show. Enjoy the rested feeling and the day ahead.
